Janet Edwards Treff

Janet Edwards Treff, age 79, of Seymour, passed away on February 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in New York City on June 3, 1939, daughter of the late Alexander and Ruth Graham Edwards. Janet graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1961 with a degree in Education. While only teaching a few years, she had a knack for reinventing herself. As a mom, she was a scout leader, dance mom and soccer mom amongst other things. In the late 1970's, Janet served on the Seymour Board of Education as a member and as Chair. For 15 years, she owned and ran the Culinary Shop, a cake bakery in downtown Shelton before moving on to retail. Janet retired from Macy's Department Store after approximately 19 years of service at the age of 73. She lived her life fabulously, full of life, travel and theater. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends but will remain forever in our hearts. Her loving family includes her children Katherine, Elise and Conrad, Jr., her daughter-in-law Claudette, her grandchildren Amanda and Rachel Gordon and Conrad III and Isen Treff and her brother Graham Edwards.
