Lynda Ellen Chaco age 74, of Seymour, the beloved wife of 52 years of John J. Chaco, entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Derby on June 8, 1947, the loving daughter of the late Frederick and Arlene Kekacs. Lynda was a devout communicant of Holy Rosary Church of Ansonia and was a former lector at The Church of the Good Shepherd for many years. Lynda was a graduate of Shelton High School and Central Connecticut State University where she received her Bachelor of Education Degree. John and Lynda truly shared a love story that began over 60 years ago, becoming best friends at the age of 14. Their bond was unbreakable and the life they shared was full of incredible memories, love and laughter. From their union, they had three children. Family and friendship was everything to her, and all who knew her have been touched by her exceptional grace, strength and dedication to being kind and true. In addition to her beloved husband John, her loving family includes her caring sons Benjamin Chaco and his wife Tara of Ma., and Michael Chaco and his wife Mary Ellen of Ga., and a loving daughter Gretchen Robinson of Seymour. She was "Nanny" to her nine cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Lexi, Ethan, Tyler, Jade, Daisy, Dallas, Sarah and Eli, who were the light of her life. Nanny loved them beyond words and she will live on within them forever. She was a loving sister to her five brothers and sisters. She was a teacher at many school systems for many years, but often reflected most on her first years of teaching in the inner city of Washington, DC, where her impact was felt greatly. Lynda lived a life which touched so many. Her loving nature, positivity and strength reached all who were Blessed to have her in their lives. She loved being with her family , friends and especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 9:00 am DIRECTLY at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in Lynda's memory may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Make A Wish Foundation through the funeral home.
