Christine M. Kowalonek

On August 19, 2025 Christine M. Kowalonek passed away peacefully in her sleep after a battle with cancer. Chris was born on January 19, 1948 in Bridgeport Hospital to Frank and Helen Kowalonek. Chris spent most of her childhood in Fairfield, CT and graduated from Andrew Ware High School. She also attended Sacred Heart University (BS Elementary Ed.) and Fairfield University (MS Elementary Ed). 

Chris started her career in Elementary Education but spent most of her career in Accounts Payable positions. Throughout her life Chris had many hobbies: pottery, sketching, painting, photography, square dancing, folk dancing, reading, gardening and a love of animals; especially cats and dogs. As a Christian, she was very involved in her church and loved studying the Bible. 

Chris was the oldest of 6 children: John (deceased), Alice Dicso (Lou), Theresa, Frank (Sandra), and Anne. There are also nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will take place on: Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM @Woodland Church of Christ 63 Ancient Hwy, Oxford, CT 06478.
