Dorothy E. Chapman

Dorothy Elizabeth Chapman, age 87, of Oxford, formerly of New Canaan, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 3, 2022 at her residence. She was born in New Britain, on February 23, 1934, beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Marguerite Williams. She loved her home, was artistic, and was an accomplished singer and was even Miss Connecticut. Dorothy will be sadly missed, but will remain in our hearts forever. Her loving family includes her four sons William P. Hunt, Jr., (Allison) of Hamilton, NJ, Quentin A. Hunt (Cathy) of Toms River, NJ, Craig P. Hunt of New Canaan, and Charles J. Chapman of Natick, MA., two caring daughters Kathleen Yates and Marguerite Ellinger of Sea Cliff, NY., twelve cherished grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husbands William P. Hunt, Sr., and Charles J. Chapman, her beloved brother Lawrence Williams and two loving sisters Marguerite Avolt and Cecelia Webster. A Memorial Service in celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 3:00 pm at The Miller Ward Funeral 260 Bank Street (Rt. 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to RVNAHealth.org.
