Floyd "Pete" Peterson, age 90, of Southbury, formerly of Seymour, the beloved husband to the late Lorraine Keating Peterson, entered into rest peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2016 at River Glen Health Center. He was born in Redwing, Minnesota on April 25, 1926, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Peterson. Pete proudly served his country as a Pilot in the United States Airforce during World War II. He flew a C-47 transport plane from Alaska to the Aleutian Islands and back. Pete retired after serving 23 years as a Senior Master Sergeant. After his time in the military, he worked for Textron Lycoming of Stratford for 20 years. Pete was instrumental in starting and completing the restoration of the Sikorsky S-42 "Flying Boat" which is on display at the New England Air Museum. He was a Seymour resident for over 25 years. Pete was a college graduate who loved to fly and owned many of his own planes. He was a gentlemen's gentleman who will be sadly missed by his family and many friends and will remain forever in their hearts. His family includes his son Eric Peterson of San Antonio, TX, his daughter Cecelia Kiley of Boston, and his step daughters Diane M. Clark (Neal G.) Miller of Middlebury, Lisa L. Clark (William) Adkins of Portland, CT and Corinne Clark of Virginia. A Graveside Service in Celebration of Pete's life will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 am at Northwest Cemetery at the corner of Peck Hill Road and Seymour Road (RT. 67), Woodbridge with the Rev.
