Helen Veronica Sadowski

Helen Veronica Sadowski, age 98, of Seymour, the beloved wife of the late Benjamin J. Sadowski, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Whitney Rehab Manor in Hamden, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waterbury on October 19, 1919, daughter of the late Anthony and Stella Dominski Ciesinski. Helen was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class of Seymour High School. Helen was a long time volunteer at Griffin Hospital where she was loved by all. She was a member of the Seymour Women's Club and was active with her children at the Center School PTA. Helen worked at the Ciesinski Family Bakery of Seymour for many years. She was the caregiver for family, was an avid homemaker that loved to cook and loved to listen to and dance to Polish music. Helen enjoyed a wonderful life filled with family, good friends, great memories, lots of laughter and polish music. She will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. Her loving family includes her two caring daughters Stacia Crockett (Richard) of Hamden and Mary Ann Maffeo of Branford, her three cherished grandchildren Nancy Kranich of Branford, Wendy Graves (Robert) of Hamden and Melissa Cox of Hamden, four cherished great grandchildren Jami Ann Kranich, Kyle Kranich, Aliyah Cox and Camryn Cox and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Irene Szczesiul, her beloved brother Theodore Ciesinski and her cherished son in law Dominic Maffeo. The family of Helen wish to thank the compassionate staff of Whitney Rehab Manor for the loving care and support given to her while she was a resident there. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Helen's Life will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Helen's memory may be made to the Seymour Ambulance Fund through the funeral home.
