Jerry Kelly, 57, of Bethany, passed away suddenly on May 4, 2020. He was the loving husband of Sue Gedansky Kelly and a devoted father to Cheyann and Dakota Kelly. Jerry was born in New Haven on September 12, 1962 to the late Jerald L. and Rosealla Ortseifer Kelly. Jerry worked for the Department of Public Works in the town of Woodbridge and truly enjoyed his job and coworkers. He loved woodworking, cooking dinner on the grill (even on a snowy night), working around the yard, and taking a nice long ride on his motorcycle. He could fix just about anything, and loved finding a new piece of equipment that he could use in the yard. Jerry looked forward to the Gedansky annual Fathers Day lobster bake. He especially loved watching his daughters participate in sports and activities. Jerry coached both daughters in soccer and softball for many years. When he wasn't coaching, he was the loudest supporter in the stands and never missed a game. You could always count on Jerry for a good story or joke, and he could always lighten the mood. "Big Jer" had a heart of gold, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him knew he was the kindest most thoughtful guy and could always be counted on. In addition to his wife and daughters Jerry is survived by his faithful dog Dani, his mother and father in law Rita and Stan Gedansky, his sisters Kim Wollman (Bill), Claudia Donovan, and Cindy Reynolds, sister in law Beth Young (Ken), brother in laws Steven Gedansky, Matt Gedansky, and Bob Squeglia. He is a favorite uncle to Carly, Jordan, and Zach Young, Natalie and Rachel Gedansky, Alyssa (Nikki) and Chelsea Wollman, Robbie and Taylor Squeglia, DT Reynolds, and Michael Donovan. He was predeceased by his nephew Brian Gedansky and his faithful dogs Bubba and Rylie. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects, from 10:15 am until 11:15 am at Northwest Cemetery located at the corner of Peck Hill and Seymour Roads in Woodbridge on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
