Joann Dimaria

JoAnn Bernadette DiMaria, 72 of Seymour, the beloved companion of Richard Read, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Yale New Haven Hospital. JoAnn was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 30, 1944, the daughter of the late Adam and Josephine (Kacperowski) Kuminski. She was a retired secretary for Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. JoAnn was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd. She moved from Brooklyn, NY to Seymour six years ago. She loved to garden and shop. JoAnn will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. JoAnn's loving family includes her beloved companion Richard Read of Seymour, her caring son Richard M. DiMaria and his wife Lisa of North Kingstown, RI. and two cherished grandchildren Emma and Aidan DiMaria. A Funeral Service in Celebration of JoAnn's Life will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will be held in Rhode Island at a later date. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4:00 am until 8:00 pm.
