John Patrick Adams "Prez," 67, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 19, 1958 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, John was the middle son of George and Jean (Murray) Adams. He studied plumbing at Bullard Havens Technical High School, laying the foundation for a lifetime of providing for those he loved.
John dedicated 18 years to Sikorsky Aircraft as an HVAC maintenance worker. Known affectionately as "Prez" , He was proud of his work and the friendships he built there. Whether through his steady presence, his sense of humor, or his willingness to lend a hand, people simply recognized he was a great man
John loved the outdoors. Hunting trips with friends and time spent fishing brought him peace. But his greatest joy was always his family.
He was an amazing "Pop Pop." He treasured working in the yard with his grandsons, JJ and Adam, teaching them through example and steady patience. He loved taking his granddaughter Kiersten on snack runs in his Mustang - small traditions that became treasured memories. Above all, John was deeply devoted to his wife, Jo Ann. His love for her was constant, protective, and enduring.
John is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann (Froilan) Adams; his daughters, Jinelle (Bradley) Estes and Johnna (Justin) Granton; and his cherished grandchildren, Kiersten Braun, JJ Granton, and Adam Granton. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss his steady presence.Family and friends will be received at Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour, CT 06483 on Monday February 23,, 2026, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church 170 Coen Street, Naugatuck, on Tuesday February 24, 2026, at 10am. Burial will be private.
