John Turley

John Turley, age 78, of Oxford, the beloved husband of 53 years to Barbara Turley, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on the 12th of February in 1938 in Crowhurst, Sussex, England and was the son of Lucy and John Turley. John was employed by Sendzimir of Waterbury for over 40 years and held the position of VP of Engineering. He was a brilliant engineer who designed many patents for the company. He pioneered new products and implementations for the steel industry. John had a passion for singing and was involved in three local church choirs. He loved to play golf with his sons and spend quality time with his family. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him and will remain forever in their hearts. John's loving family in addition to his wife Barbara includes his sons James of Norwalk, Stephen and his wife Pam of Sturbridge, MA, and grandchildren Michael and Rebecca. Also sisters Christine, Lucie and brother Frank and their families in England. A Memorial Service in Celebration of John's Life will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Rt. 67 across from Klarides Village) Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the Beacon Falls Congregational Church through the funeral home.
