Kenneth (Kimbo, Bubba) William Taylor, age 80, of Oxford, the beloved husband of 57 years to Gina Mastrobattisto Taylor, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a courageous fight with an illness. He was born in Derby on June 4, 1943, the loving son of the late Walter and Mildred Taylor. Kimbo was a warm and caring man that often greeted his family and friends with a smile and a "Hubba Hubba". He loved spending time at the Cabin fishing, playing cards with his nephew Taylor and son-in- laws Ray and Eric, and the memories made during hunting week with his close friends Billy and Tony. Kimbo enjoyed Jeeps, snowmobiles, ATV's and the TR-6 convertible he restored. He loved taking long rides in the country with his wife Gina. He loved his country and proudly served it in the United States Army. Kimbo was a long-time member of the Elks Club and enjoyed listening to country music. He was always the first to help others, but would never accept help himself. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his many friends and family, especially his cherished grandchildren. Kimbo was extremely proud of each of them and took great joy in the special moments he shared with each of them. He loved to watch Justin play baseball and talk with him about his inventions for the future. He loved that Mikayla was a part of the agricultural program at Nonnewaug High School and was very proud she graduated from UConn with her MLS degree. He loved that Mackenzie had her engineering job at Electric Boat and was fascinated by her work that she did. He was very proud of Ashley for becoming an Occupational Therapist and loved it when she helped him. He also loved the fact that his grandson-in law Theo became a boat captain and looked forward to seeing the picture of his boat and of the fish he had caught. Kimbo will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. His loving family, in addition to his wife Gina includes his two daughters, Darla Miner and her husband Eric, and Lesley Nappi and her husband Raymond, his grandchildren Ashley Tison and her husband Theo Tison, Mackenzie Miner, Mikayla Nappi and Justin Nappi, his sister Marcia D'Alexander and her husband John, his nieces and nephews Taylor and Jodie D'Alexander, Walter Taylor, Sheree Courney, Jeffrey Taylor, Dale Butler, Mandy Hicks, Glenn Fritz, Bobby Fritz, Dawn McArthur, Johnny Mastrobattisto, Joel Mastrobattisto, Perry Mastrobattisto, Gary Mastrobattisto, Robin Grabinska, Rodney Grabinstki and Russell Grabinski, his Godchildren Katerina Cavanagh and Wendy Mignot, his close friends and relatives Billy and Sharon Coolahan, Tom Tkacz, Jimmy Morgan, Tony Ambrose and his beloved grand dogs. Hubba, Hubba!! All services for Kimbo will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
