Leon Joseph Tomasheski, age 82, of Beacon Falls, the beloved husband of Janet Aragi Tomasheski entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was born in Derby, CT on January 13,1941, loving son of the late Leonard and Alice (Dapkunas)Tomasheski. Leon was a devout communicant of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church of Beacon Falls and a former longtime employee of Adams Supermarket of Derby, where he had worked in the Receiving Department. Leon was the owner of Leon's Lawn Service which he operated for 40 years. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was the long time Secretary/Treasurer and active fireman of the Great Hill Hose Company of Seymour. He loved to polka dance. Leon loved Ansonia High School Football, spending time on the Cape and with his loyal companion his dog Cece. Most of all, Leon loved to spend time with his family and many friends. He will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts. Leon's family wishes to thank the entire Staff of The Lutheran Home of Southbury for their excellent care and kindness shown to him while under their care. In addition to his beloved wife Janet, his loving family includes his two sons Thomas Tomasheski and his wife Linda of Seymour and David Tomasheski and his wife Stephanie of Seymour, his daughter Susan Tomasheski of Ansonia, his step-children David and Jodi Chevarella, Lisa and Troy Testone and Stacy and Brendan Boyle and his three cherished grandchildren Zachary, Katie and Jeremy Tomasheski and his ten step grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Leon's life will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Michael R.C. Church, 25 Maple St. in Beacon Falls. Interment with full military honors will follow in the family plot at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Friends and relatives may call at The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 7:00pm In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Leon's memory may be made to the Great Hill Hose Company of Seymour, through the funeral home.
