Linda S. Brooks

Linda Brooks “Susan”, 71 of Oxford, Ct, passed away on May 31,2025 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by family. Susan was born on January 23, 1954 in Monroe, Ct the daughter of the late Philip and Dorothy (Smith) Blakeman. She was a graduate of Seymour High School. Susan was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Irish band Celtic Thunder who she had the honor of seeing live with her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter who shared her love of their music since she was only a few months old. Susan is survived by her loving husband Austin “Jr” Brooks, daughters April and Lori (Allen). Brothers David (Sue), Richard (Tami), Donald and Brian. Sisters Barbara and Sandra (Jerry). Grandchildren Shana Loper, Wade, Sierra and Landon Brooks, Ian, Gage and Penelope. And her great grand daughter Mya who was her sweetie pie sugar plum, and the light of her life the past 2 years. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. And her loyal Australian Shepard Tasha who spent her days curled up at her feet or beside her bed. Susan is predeceased by her daughter Darylann Brooks and son “DJ” Brooks. As well as her brother Philip and sisters Claire, Carol, Jill, Sharon “Pooky” and Karen. Special thanks to her granddaughter Shana who took great care of Susan’s many needs over the years, helping to make dealing with her physical and medical needs easier on the whole family. Services will be private at the family’s convenience.
