Mary Esther Stratton, age 86, of Seymour, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026.

Born on April 17, 1940, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mary lived a life devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the beloved wife of the late James Roger Stratton, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years.

Mary is survived by her son, James R. Stratton Jr. and his wife, Teresa, and her daughter, Kristine Burns and her husband, Kevin. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Nicole Stratton, Melissa Moffa, Victoria Barach, Danielle Johnson, and Trevor Burns, and a constant source of strength in their lives. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Trent Raffaele and Carter Barach, who brought her immense joy.

She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Smith, and her brother, Ron Zanchetti. She was predeceased by her brother, Joe Zanchetti.

Mary’s greatest joy in life was her family, and her faith was an important source of strength that guided her throughout her life. She was passionate about family and never met a stranger, becoming a true friend to everyone she encountered. An old-fashioned neighbor in the best sense of the word, Mary believed deeply in community, kindness, and always being there for others. Her warmth, compassion, and generous spirit touched countless lives.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 23, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Miller-Macari Family Funeral Home, followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Church. Committal of ashes will follow at Mount St. Peter Cemetery.

Mary’s legacy of love, kindness, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors she loved so dearly.
