Michael G. Perone, Sr.

Michael G. Perone, Sr., age 89, of Oxford, formerly of Stamford, the beloved husband of the late Nancy Golino Perone, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at Apple Rehabilitation of Shelton. He was born in Stamford on January 21, 1929, son of the late Gennaro and Gilda DePascal Perone. Michael was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford and was a US Army Corporal and a Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for 24 years as a Printer for the Olin Corporation of Stamford and after his retirement, he worked at the Big Y of Monroe. Michael loved being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. Michael's loving family includes his son Michael G. Perone, Jr. and his partner Elaine of Wallingford, his daughters Gilda Grabowski and her partner Tim of Stratford, and Teresa Perone of Stamford, his sister Lia Caporizo of Georgia, his nine cherished grandchildren, his 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving daughter Celia Gardner and four brothers and two sisters. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:30 am in the chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Interment, with Full Military Honors Accorded, will be in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour. Friends and relatives may call on Saturday morning from 9:30 am until the start of the service at 10:30 am.
