Michael Mahabir

Michael Mahabir, age 41, of Weston, entered into rest at Queens Hospital, Jamaica, NY on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. He was born in Trinidad on January 24, 1972, son of the late Joe and Rose Garib Mahabir. Michael was employed as a construction worker for the TSC Steel Construction Company of Westbury, LI, NY. Michael loved to fish, draw, paint, and play cricket. He also loved spending time with his family and many friends. Michael's loving family includes his caring brothers Rodney Mahabir and his wife Rena of Queens, NY, Torrance Mahabir of Canada, and loving brother Rajash Mahabir of Trinidad, six devoted sisters Susan Abdul and her husband Hanif of Tampa, FL, Merlin Ramkellawan and her husband Lal of Queens, NY, Marilyn Walters and her husband Michael of Weston, Irene Garib and her husband Stevan Marjanovic of Oxford, Vera Bernauer and her husband Sam of Stamford, and Reena Rambhawan of Weston, and several cherished nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 12:30 pm at the Cornerstone Assembly of God, 656 Oxford Road, Oxford with the Pastor Christopher Willis officiating. Interment in the family plot will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until 12 noon (Directly) at the church. Memorial gifts in memory of Michael may be made to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
