Nancy K. Kuzia, age 80, of Beacon Falls, CT, beloved wife of Thomas C. Kuzia, passed away after a brief illness on January 5th, 2026. Born on February 9th, 1945, in Derby, CT, Nancy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica Koval, who raised her in Seymour, CT, where she graduated from Seymour High School, class of 1962.
For more than 60 years, Nancy shared an enduring and loving partnership with her husband Tom, whom she met in high school. At the young age of 16, Nancy opened Miss Nancy’s School of Dance in Seymour, teaching her passion of tap and ballet to youth in her community. Later, Nancy worked for many years with her brother Richard Koval at Country Farms Deli in Seymour, CT, after which she advanced her career into bookkeeping for financial institutions and medical offices until her retirement.
Nancy had a passion for cooking and baking. She passed down many traditional recipes from her childhood to her children and grandchildren, all of whom cherish them and look forward to the annual holiday “Cookie Day” and her Hungarian soup.
Nancy enjoyed cruising the Caribbean Islands with Mary Lou Severino, her best friend since 3rd grade, and enjoyed spending time with her “Diana Lane Ladies”, a group of women who raised their children together in their neighborhood.
Most of all, Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. She attended their sporting events and dance recitals, and celebrated their graduations, work and school successes right alongside them. Her silly nature and infectious laugh always brought smiles to those in the room.
In addition to her husband Thomas, Nancy is survived by her children, Thomas J. Kuzia and wife Jacqueline of Cape Coral, FL, Judi Eaves and husband Andrew Eaves of Avon, CT and Nancy B. Lallier of Wallingford, CT. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Deina Mayo, Joseph Kuzia, Nicholas Kuzia, Heather Dance and Briley Peters, and 2 great-grandchildren, and cousin Robert Bernaitis, of whom she provided care and love as a guardian and conservator.
Nancy was predeceased by her brother Richard Koval and her grandson Michael Maiette.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2026 from 4:00-6:00pm, with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm at Miller Macari Funeral Home 260 Bank Street, Seymour CT. A private burial will be held in the spring.
