Regina Ann Kozlowski Griffing, age 87, of Oxford, the beloved wife of the late Charles H. Griffing, Jr., entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford on September 22, 1930, daughter of the late August and Anna Kozlowski. Regina was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was formerly employed as a Secretary at Manning, Maxwell and Moore of Bridgeport. She was a devout communicant and very active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of Our Lady Society, was devoted to the Blessed Mother and was a member of the Rosary Society of the church. Regina was a devoutly religious woman. She went on several pilgrimages later in her life. She went to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia to see the site of the Blessed Virgin Mary Apparitions, the Holy Land, Rome and to Mexico City to see the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Regina was involved in Marriage Encounter and was very active in My Father's House of Moodus, CT. She loved to tell jokes, but most of all, Regina enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts. Her loving family includes her five loving sons Charles H. Griffing, III and his wife Carolyn of Seymour, August Michael Griffing of Oxford, Patrick J. Griffing and his wife Debra of North Branford, Thomas E. Griffing and his wife Johanna of Wallingford and Joseph L. Griffing of Meriden, her two caring daughters Kathleen D'Emanuele and her husband Nick of Bristol and Susan Griffing of Derby, her fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her special lifelong friends and neighbors. Regina was predeceased by her two brothers Joseph and Edward Kozlowski, two sisters Helen Kozlowski and Sophie Forman and her cherished daughter in law Amber Griffing. The family of Regina wish to thank her compassionate caregivers Marjory, Liz and Laura for the loving care and support given to her. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Regina's Life will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Memorial gifts in Regina's memory may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd Improvement Fund through the funeral home.
