Richard Paul Franzino, age 71, of Oxford, CT, passed away on February 18, 2026, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT.

Rich was born on April 25, 1954, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Frank and Anna (Epifano) Franzino. He graduated from Masuk High School and attended the University of Bridgeport.

Early in his career, Rich worked as a Road Carpenter, where he had the opportunity to work alongside notable figures such as Sandy Duncan, Al Pacino, Lynn Redgrave, Elizabeth Taylor, and Richard Burton. A proud member of IATSE Local 74 for 50 years, he served as a Stagehand and Head Carpenter for various venues, including the Darien Dinner Theater, Levitt Pavilion, Palace Theatre in Stamford, and NBC Stamford Studios.

After retirement, Rich worked tirelessly as a member of the Oxford Grange, where he strived to bring back the vitality and community to the building and the small stage he loved.

Rich was also instrumental in the planning and execution of the SONO Arts Celebration.

Rich's most treasured accomplishment: Rich was the Founder and original owner of the Acoustic Cafe (now transformed to "Park City Music Hall"), Bpt., Ct from 1998-2007.

Rich is survived by his Life Partner, Debbie Mitchell, Mother, Anna Franzino, and Sister, Jayne Franzino Romero. He is also survived by his many "kids" that loved him from his time at the Acoustic Cafe.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 25 from 4-8pm, (during which there will be a service at 7pm, at the Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour, Ct 06483. Interment ceremony will be held privately.

On February 24, from 6-9pm, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Park City Music Hall, 2926 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Open Mic: Songs and Stories.
