Richard P. ‘Sarge' Reilly, Jr., age 78, of Seymour, the beloved husband of Kathy LoCicero Reilly, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bridgeport on August 26, 1937. Sarge was a career military Staff Sergeant Major (Ret.) who served in several military branches over his 43 years of dedicated service to his country. He particularly enjoyed his career as an educator in the Army teaching soldiers on the use of arms. Sarge was a member and Past Captain of the Fire Police for Citizen's Engine Company in Seymour. His passion was flying several of his remote controlled airplanes with the Oxford RC Club in Southbury. He was very proud and happy that his life turned out to be a good one. Sarge will be missed dearly by his family and many friends and will remain forever in their hearts. In addition to his beloved wife Kathy, Sarge leaves behind son Richard Reilly and wife Casey of Naugatuck; former daughter-in-law Kelly Byram-Ennis and grandsons Hunter and Dylan of Seymour. Son Kevin Reilly and wife Diane and granddaughters Samantha and Brooke of Seymour. His niece Linda Chagnon of Newington, CT, nephews Ron and Norman of Manchester, N.H. and his beloved German Shepherd Major. He was predeceased by his sisters Josephine, Elsie, Ruth and Jean. While no local services will be held, Sarge will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery later this spring.
