Rose Dinice

Rose Dinice, age 78, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2021 at CT Hospice in Branford. She was born in Derby on February 2, 1943, loving daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Barbarisi Dinice. Rose was a Hairdresser and Co-owner of Hairport in Seymour for more than 50 years. She was a graduate of Derby High School and the Valley Academy of Beauty Culture. Rose's personal motto was to "Enjoy Life". She lived it and preached it to all those around her. She loved having her picture taken with many celebrities, but Rose outshined them in every photo. Rose was involved and donated to many charities. She frequently visited the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT and was also a Member of the Derby Historical Society. Rose loved to travel around the world, especially to Puerto Rico which was her favorite place. She loved her trips to the Casinos, friends at Hairport, friends at The Riverwalk Athletic Club at the Heritage Hotel, friends at the local Dunkin' Donuts, and her family. Rose is survived by several nieces and nephews who love her and miss her dearly. She was more than an ‘Aunt', but also a close friend and mentor. Rose will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts Rose's loving family includes her two caring sisters-in-law Regina Dinice of Branford, and Irene Dinice of Wallingford and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Benjamin Dinice, Anthony Dinice and Paul Dinice and her sister-in-law Mary Dinice. A Memorial Mass in Celebration of Rose's Life will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish, 212 Elizabeth Street in Derby. All those who attend will be required to wear a mask. Burial will be in Puerto Rico and held at the convenience of the family.
