Vincent J. Deleon Iii

Vincent J. DeLeon, III, age 63, of Seymour, the beloved husband of Elizabeth Butanowicz DeLeon, entered into rest on July 12, 2020 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was born in Bridgeport on March 16, 1957, son of the late Vincent J. and Joan Gourley DeLeon, Jr. Vin was a long time Letter Carrier at the Norwalk Post Office and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He greatly enjoyed golfing, fishing, trying new restaurants and long weekend trips with his wife. Vin loved the New York Giants and was a great fan of history. He was a friend of Bill W. and sponsored many people over the last 30 years. Vin liked to laugh and joke around and could cheer up anyone and put a smile on their face. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and many friends and will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. His family in addition to his wife Elizabeth includes his son Michael DeLeon of Shelton, his two daughters Nicole Franco and her husband Michael of Naugatuck and Jennifer DeLeon-Prutting and her husband Brendan of Shelton, his brother Vance J. DeLeon and his wife Jacqueline of Ansonia, his sister Victoria Wainwright of Oxford, two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives may pay their final respects on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT.67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, masks will be required of all who attend and other social distancing requirements will be used. A private service with full military honors accorded will be held after the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Vin's memory many be made to the Humane Society through the funeral home.
