William Joseph Guillotte, Jr., age 87, of Oxford, the beloved husband of Mary Callahan Guillotte, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Abbott Terrace Healthcare of Waterbury surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Norwich, Connecticut on March 4, 1929, son of the late William and Marion LaGarde Guillotte, Sr. Bill was an Oxford resident for over 45 years and was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour. Bill served with pride and honor in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven and received a degree in Marine Biology from the University of Connecticut. Bill was the County Editor of the Bridgeport Post for many years and was also the owner and operator of the Times-Oxfordian newspaper. He was a past president of the Oxford Lions Club and was an avid fisherman and fan of the UCONN Huskies. Bill loved spending time with his family and many friends and will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. His loving family, in addition to his wife Mary, includes his daughter Louise Guillotte of Winthrop, Massachusetts; his son William J. Guillotte, III and his wife Jennifer of Cheshire; his his sisters Jeanne Collier of North Haven and Yvonne Trilsch of North Weymouth, Massachusetts; his grandchildren, Isabelle Guillotte and William Cameron Guillotte; and four nieces and seven nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Burial at the State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown will take place in the Spring. There will be no visitation.
